Aquapac (RNLI Partnership)

Help us stop drowning today

About us

Aquapac have pledged their support to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) by committing to sharing key water safety messages and raising vital funds for the charity.

Aquapac are a world leader in manufacturing and supplying waterproof pouches including cases for any mobile phone, so it’s a natural coming together with the RNLI whose aim is to save every one from drowning at sea. The partnership between the RNLI and Aquapac will run in 2022 with the potential to extend to 3 years if the first year is successful for both organisations.

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Providing a 24/7 search and rescue service, the charity and its volunteers operate 238 lifeboat stations and more than 240 lifeguard units around UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service.

Aquapac and the RNLI aim to encourage the public to buy an Aquapac waterproof pouch before heading out onto the water. The pouches allow people to keep their means of calling for help safe and secure should they need it in an emergency.

The RNLI currently use Aquapac waterproof pouches for lifeguard VHF radios, and their retail team will soon stock AP products in RNLI shops.

Each year around 150 people lose their lives at UK and Irish coasts. These happen to people taking in a wide range of water based and waterside activities. Together, the RNLI and Aquapac urge people to take a means of calling for help that is most suitable for their activity.

The safety message encourages water users to make sure they know how to use their means of calling and to always keep it on them. If they find themselves in an emergency situation or spot someone else in trouble, they should call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.

By sharing the RNLI’s safety messaging on Aquapac’s channels and across their product ranges, Aquapac estimate that they will reach millions of people with this vital lifesaving activity during the partnership.

Aquapac are dedicated to helping the RNLI raise vital funds through new and existing methods to help the charity keep saving lives at sea.

Aquapac will aim to raise £85,000 through fundraising ideas, a percentage of sales to the RNLI on selected products and challenge events.

Raising £85,000 for the charity will provide them with a great deal of support, as every £1/€1 donated will help the RNLI weather the storm and make a lifesaving difference. Not only to the people they rescue and their loved ones, but to the crew and their families too.
